From clear sunshine to pouring rain in a day

Some piccies today from the southern end of the Gold Coast and also Cabarita Beach where we have been surfing the past two days. Swell expected to pick up on the Gold Coast in coming days.

Our day started with another good surf before breaky down at Cabarita- a bit bigger than yesterday..prob 4 ft, but also a bit windier. It was a lovely morning and we sat in the sun for a while after the surf.

We drove back to Kirra and had some breakfast before driving into the beach at Coolangatta- I went for a walk and read my book (fellow Bookclubbers, I have just started Mao's Last Dancer...enjoying it so far!) in the shade for a while, and adam sat under a tree playing guitar. Then we went to Sushi Train for lunch- yummo, before setting out to get a few jobs done. We have bought a mini tv and today got an antenna etc. plus I finally got a new pair of hiking boots.

After this morning's sunshine, the rain has started to pour down. Hopefully it clears up soon- it's never fun packing up in the rain and then having a car and caravan full of wet towels and a wet annexe etc. It can certainly be a bit patience testing ;-)

Tonight we are having dinner out at a Mexican place with a few of Adam's friends from his day's living up here. Should be fun. Hope all's well in your part of the world :-) xx

Hey guys just dropping in to say great pics looks like you could not have had a better start to your holiday, weather and surf wise, hope both keep up for you, how far north are you going to continue surfing.

lil bro, sunshine coast for a week or so after the Gold coast. A bit sharky after that (fraser Island/Rainbow Beach), but there are a few more beaches north of this, with the furthest northern surfing beach being Agnes Waters near 1770. You can surf at Cairns hendo tells me at a place called Ratshit Bay which gets it's name as the surf is fickle as the hole in the reef is small and so the surf has to be huge to get through..........allegedly the crocs and tiger sharks are also a big issue! Safe to say that out last Qld surfing will be Agnes Waters.......then WA
