Counting down!....

Hi everyone...well I have just handed in my official resignation letter, giving my boss three months notice! So we are into the final countdown now until our around Australia journey!! It's an exciting time, and I think it's now starting to feel more real. Mum and I bought some bright material at Spotlight and a friend has made us some new curtains and seat covers to make the van a little more cheery (well, we are going to be spending a LOT of time in it!).

I have also started doing a rough trip planner and reading lots of books on Australia, while also studying maps. We will be on a rough timetable and route to keep us on track with the seasons and our budget, but will also be open to new experiences and changes, which are bound to arise as we (nothing beats locals knowledge when travelling).

Adam has also informed his boss and secured flexible leave without pay, which is fantastic.

The freedom before us is quite liberating.

Meanwhile, we are about to fly overseas to Thailand and Laos for about 3 weeks- can't wait! We are looking forward to the food, the culture, the landscapes and the people...

When we get back it will be two months until our departure, and time to seriously start finetuning our plans and tidying up all loose ends at work and with packing and being prepared. We also hope to have a farewell night with friends before we set off.
Our departure date is Saturday April 29th 2006- our first wedding anniversary! What a way to celebrate...
